The answer is no. As many as 67% of employees have no idea what the amount of their personal development budget is. This is according to the Studytube Learning & Development Monitor 2021.
What is actually the average learning budget of an employee in the Netherlands? One-fifth of Dutch HR managers (21%) say their organization’s learning budget fluctuates between €500 and €999. Noting that 19% of them simply have no idea of the exact amount, as do 67% of employees and 48% of executives.
Learning budget remains
This could help explain why much of the available learning budget remains on the shelf: 61% of HR professionals confirm that they effectively spend only 75% of that amount (or less).
More than half of employees (54%) and 48% of managers realize that the learning budget is not fully utilized. In fact, among HR Business Partners, HR Advisors and L&D Managers, 57% feel that employees do not make enough use of the learning and development opportunities available in the organization.
